||Developing the Concept of a Determinant Using DGS

The paper looks at some of the conceptual difficulties that students have in the courses Linear Algebra and Analytic Geometry. It identifies students’ difficulties in understanding the concept definitions and various concept images of a Determinant. It also suggests an approach using the DGS GeoGebra for overcoming these difficulties, which was undertaken with upper-secondary school students. The last Paragraph reports on students’ experiences using the suggested GeoGebra Applet during the experiment.
