We are pleased to announce that the Radford University Environmental Center, in collaboration with Facilities Management and the University Advancement Office, has received a grant from the Jessie Ball DuPont Fund to support improvements in energy efficiency and energy conservation on our campus. The $75,000 grant will support extensive energy audit activities in selected buildings on campus, as well as the installation of two energy “dashboards” in selected residence halls. The dashboards will make possible a controlled experiment to determine their effectiveness in reducing energy use in residence halls, with and without energy conservation programming. The Environmental Center thanks Associate Julio Stephens and the staff in Facilities Management, and Ms. Robyn Porterfield in University Advancement, for their efforts in putting this grant application together. It was a real team effort.
We are also most appreciative of the assistance we received from Jessie Ball DuPont Fund staff, in particular Ginny Hodges, in polishing the proposal.
