Date: March 1, 2014
Location: George Mason University
Limit: 40 participants
Lunch will be included
Presenters:
- General Michael Hayden, former NSA and CIA Director
- Kevin Culhane, former DIA HUMIT Director
- Dan VanGundy, former Moscow DIA covert ops and Russian area officer
- Leo Dillon, US Dept of State Office of The Geographer
- John Perroots, HUMIT Director Dept of Defense
- Brent Brederhoft, former Deputy G-3 Joint Chiefs Nuclear Weapons (Iran and Syria)
Also included will be a GIS conflict mapping activity in one of the tech-enabled classrooms in the Geography Dept. on campus. A proposal and flyer should be ready by mid-January.
You may bring students to listen to the speakers. A few members of Gamma Theta Upsilon (the Geographic Honor Society at GMU) will be providing logistical help during the presentations and GIS exercise; and the organization will be providing light refreshments in the morning for all who attend the presentation portion of the workshop, including any students who attend. It would help if we could get a rough estimate as to how many students will be attending, and from where, etc., prior to the workshop date. Lunch and the GIS exercise, however, will be for workshop participants only.
