Three Virginia educators are among THE NATIONAL COUNCIL FOR GEOGRAPHIC EDUCATION’s 2018 AWARD WINNERS.

NCGE celebrates those who have made outstanding contributions to geography education. The following will receive their awards at NCGE’s annual meeting in Quebec City in August.

OUTSTANDING SUPPORT FOR GEOGRAPHIC EDUCATION. This award is for outstanding contributions to geography education outside the formal classroom

PAUL RITTENHOUSE – James Madison University, Harrisonburg, VA

DISTINGUISHED TEACHER – K-12. This award is for excellence in geography teaching and leadership at the K-12 level.

TERESA GOODIN – Henley Middle School, Crozet
SCOTT MACE – Charlottesville High School, Charlottesville
